Lesson 9 research paper was the first research paper I have ever done, and the first paper I had to write in reflection paper in practical research 2 years. I was anxious when I saw this assignment on the syllabus, as writing has never been a strong suit of mine. Writing is one of the things I was most fearful about when making the choice to go back to school and pursue my degree. I would always hear of friends and colleagues talk about how they had to write 10, 15, 30 page papers in college.


The thought of that much writing makes me dizzy. When picking the topic of the paper, I wanted to choose one that I could relate to the most.


For me that was information security and privacy, reflection paper in practical research 2. When looking at the topics provided by the professor, this one jumped out at me, and I instantly wanted to know more. As I mentioned this was my first research paper, so at first I spent a lot of time researching how to write a research paper, thank goodness for the internet!


Once I felt like I had the basics down it was time to tackle that elephant in the room, start the paper. When it came time reflection paper in practical research 2 put pen to pad, or fingers to keys in this case, I tried to break up the paper in segments.


Doing this allowed me to focus my thoughts rather than be overwhelmed by the whole exercise. And as I started to build the paper, the writing became easier and easier, and I really started to get into a flow.
